High Performance Powerskating & Edgework Clinics
Fall 2026 - 10 week session
$564.99 + HST
Oakville Hockey Academy’s Power Skating and Edgework program is a highly technical skating clinic. The program is designed to help players maximize their skating potential through focused, high-intensity instruction. Each session emphasizes proper technique, efficiency, and confidence on the ice. Players work through a progression of drills that improve first-step quickness, stride mechanics, balance, edge control, acceleration, and overall speed.
There is an element of puck control as well while perfecting the above skills.
Players will develop the confidence in being able to react and read certain game like situations ie; when to decelerate and accelerate while with the puck and without.
Program Focus Areas:
Stride Technique & Efficiency:
Teaching players how to lengthen their stride, improve extension, and generate more power with every push.
Edge Work & Agility:
Inside/outside edge control, tight turns, crossovers, pivots, and quick directional changes to improve agility and fluid movement.
Acceleration & Speed Training:
First-step quickness, explosive starts, sprint mechanics, and maintaining top-end speed.
Balance & Body Control:
Dynamic balance drills, core stability, and maintaining strong posture in all skating situations.
Transitions & Mobility:
Forward-to-backward and backward-to-forward transitions, C-cuts, mohawks, and movement patterns used in real game scenarios.
Conditioning & Efficiency Under Fatigue:
High-tempo drills to help players sustain strong technique even when tired—crucial for game performance.
